Try this stir fry for cooking flavorful vegetables so you’ll LOVE them!

November 7, 2022 By Eleanor Hoh Leave a Comment

Try this stir fry for cooking flavorful vegetables so you’ll LOVE them! Do you hate vegetables or find them difficult to cook? I get so many emails from Wok Stars who used to hate vegetables till they started using tips from my online class and now enjoy cooking and eating them! They’re so happy their kids or partners devour their veggies and LOVE them‼️

See simple cooking process and short video below, you won’t believe how easy it is…

Easy Weeknight Dinner: Grilled Ribs with stir fried broccoli and cauliflower florets.

In Asia, we enjoy eating vegetables with every meal even from a very young age and I’m happy to share how to cook them so you’ll enjoy them too.

Try this stir fry for cooking flavorful vegetables so you’ll LOVE them!

This stir fry process works especially well with firm stemmed veggies like  gorgeous multi colored cauliflower & broccoli florets. Crunchy on the outside but tender inside! Sprinkling spices at the end of the stir fry gives them a punch of flavor.

FLAVOR is probably what’s missing and why many don’t enjoy eating vegetables!

The secret is to FRY first to get crunchy texture and retain bright colors THEN add liquid! NOT the other way round which is what most traditional recipes tell you to do! When you blanche first, the vegetables become soft, lose their brightness and you cannot crisp them up when they are soft.

Check #Wokstarway on Instagram for more wok tips and easy ways to add more FLAVORS, TEXTURES & COLORS to any dish!

STIR FRY PROCESS…

1. Fry with AVOCADO OIL, garlic & ginger on medium high heat in cast iron wok or skillet.

2. Add a little stock or water and “steam fry” with lid on.

3. Add seasonings near the end of cooking time like a little sprinkle of medium sherry or leftover wine, celtic sea salt or San-J tamari and any dry spices or dried herbs you have. Mine were Smoked Picante Paprika, so good.

What a perfect pairing.

Colorful and a delicious feast!

The pork ribs were seasoned with Madras South Indian Curry, good for grilling meats, stir fried vegetables or sprinkling on salads!

My Wok Star cooking process is simple and easy. When you take my online class, you’ll discover you only need 4 TSPC seasonings. They are sprinkled for marinades, sauces and stir fried vegetables. You don’t need recipes or exact measurements for easy, healthy weeknight dinners.

Note: I earn a teeny commission from affiliate links to brands I love and use.

How to Sear Scallops? Right heat, a cast iron wok and good spice rub!

November 3, 2022 By Eleanor Hoh Leave a Comment

How to sear scallops? You need right heat, a cast iron wok and a good spice rub!

SAVE this cause you’ll want to know how to sear these scallops‼️

3 SECRETS HOW TO SEAR SCALLOPS…

• RIGHT HEAT
• CAST IRON WOK OR SKILLET
• GOOD SPICE RUB

So, what’s the Right Heat?

I was using my Nuwave stove at 375, so medium high on Iwatani gas stove. Any lower and the scallops will ‘sweat’ so not searing and will become soggy and soft. You want them to be crispy on the outside but succulent inside. Same for stir frying any meat.

Why cast iron?

Cast iron is the best material for cooking anything! I think you’ve heard me mention this a thousand times and that’s why I made a commitment to bring you the best lightweight, thin walled cast iron wok. You can find out more about the benefits of using a cast iron wok here. You’ll also find out why you should NOT use nonstick pans or woks which cannot withstand heat above medium as well as the dangers of their toxic material. It’s the main reason many have not succeeded in stir frying!

Good Spice Rub

I use spice rubs nearly on a daily basis. It’s such a simple way to add FLAVOR to your dishes. Just avoid spices with fillers or MSG. Here’s my post with 4 tips to add flavor to any dish.

Ready to see how I seared those scallops?

These wild caught sea scallops were fabulous, plump and weren’t mushy like many I’ve tried. So juicy, tender and delicious. Quick to defrost too, overnight in fridge.

Scallops have lots of healthy nutrients like omega 3 fatty acids, the best kind of fat. Also magnesium and B12. Visit Healthline for more health benefits to eating scallops!

My hubby couldn’t stop complimenting me! The best part about cooking? Knowing you can control what’s going into your food and how food affects your health, food is medicine!

Can’t wait to hear how you do searing scallops in your wok!

If you’re still not on Instagram, you’re missing out on all my lovely healthy meal ideas. Often, I’ll show how to cook quick, easy and healthy dinners, it’s what we all want for weeknights!

Drop ❤️ if you love scallops like I do…

Note: I attended a press event for Wild Fork Aventura store and gifted a gorgeous array of meats including these scallops and other goodies, more to come.
