Enter Year of the Dragon

Celebrating Year of the Dragon in my Wok Star class

I can hardly believe it will be 2012 tomorrow and we’ll be entering the Year of the Dragon, a very auspicious year!  Chinese New Year will fall on Monday, January 23 but festivities continue for a two week period.  I’m extremely thrilled my Chinese New Year class, Sat. Jan.28 at Coverings, etc is completely SOLD OUT!

However, I just added a new class, Saturday February 4th hosted by my good friend at her new venue,

Cooking with Kids and it will be mostly for Parents and Kids!

However, I hope to organize a HOH WOK CLUB gathering to celebrate maybe a little later after all the craziness. This will not be a cooking class but just a get together with my students, newsletter subscribers and anyone who enjoys good food and have some fun. Please check back or better still, subscribe to my newsletter in right sidebar so you’ll get the first dibs at getting into the gathering.  I’ll be posting some easy dishes you can make at home.  In the meantime, here are some dishes that I think would be worthy for a Chinese New Year dinner…enjoy! Just remember, wear lots of red for good luck.

Buddha’s Delight

Crispy Potstickers

Christine Najac’s Food Lover’s Guide to Miami and Fort Lauderdale for the Best Restaurants, Markets & Local Culinary Offerings.

Congratulations to Christine Najac, South Florida Food and Wine for publishing this compendium for food lovers!  Please come out for her book signing at Books and Books in Coral Gables tomorrow, Wednesday 8pm, details here. Sorry for the late announcement, you’ll want to know all the BEST tips!

Oh boy, I had no idea Christine had included my Wok Star cooking class in her book, thank you! I first met Christine at a foodie gathering at Hakkasan and immediately liked her especially when she squealed with delight when she won a gift certificate to my class.  We bump into each other at food gatherings and I love hanging out with her, she’s so much fun.  See you there tomorrow.
