Sheldon’s philosophy of relaxing first and then stretching makes total sense. I’ve experienced it and it’s wonderful. Go to his website for his e-book and subscribe to his newsletter.

Simone Zarmati Diament is the founding publisher and editor of this very comprehensive and wonderful website focusing on what's what and who's who about food, wine and fine living in South Florida and beyond. So, sign up for their weekly newsletter and get the latest news.
Simone has been very supportive of my cooking events when Ralph and I moved from Key West back in 1992. South Florida Gourmet was a newspaper and now is a fabulous website! Isn't technology great? Saves trees and reaches a wider audience. I should know, many who book my Wok Star class found me on her site and have come from as far as Seattle. I first met her through a great friend and writer/editor, Sara Churchville, at Andrea and Frank Randanzzo's restaurant, Talula's opening (everything was scrumptious and impeccable).
Food and Wine Talk is produced by southfloridagourmet.com with hosts Carole Kotkin and Simone Diament. It's a culinary, cultural and lifestyle program on WDNA 88.9 FM, Serious Jazz on Mondays, 11am-noon. You can also download their weekly show from their site.
The "two saucy chicks" (as they like to call themselves) do a fantastic job of showcasing a wide variety of all things to do with food.
They are a perfect team, each with their brand of humor and personality. I love the way Nancy experiments and shows us her results. I met Robbie on a print shoot and became fast friends. She's organized groups to my Wok Star classes and we are constantly "networking". As Robbie says, "Eleanor made me a Wok Star." Nancy attended my class in the early days and we've socialized at Slow Food USA gatherings. They made me feel so at ease when I was on their show for Chinese New Year.

This store (and website) is THE source for over 11,000 titles of cookbooks and videos. I sent my first video, Ho Wok Mei to Nach Waxman, the owner, over 15 years ago and he kindly passed it on to food writer, Anne Mendelson, who reviewed it for Eating Well. During my recent trip to New York (for the Tiger Beer Chili Crab Festival), I stopped by the store to thank him in person. He is highly regarded as one of the most knowledgeable people about food and cookbooks. He gave me some great advice that my Wok Star Kit would probably do extremely well in mid America where it's hard to pick up anything Asian. So, next time you're in New York City, pop in to say hello.

Skot Olsen is a one of my favorite artists. I’ve followed his career since we interviewed him for a TV show over 15 years ago. (Skot’s wife, Theresa, has been to my class.) You can subscribe to his newsletter at skotolsen.com and see his work on-line in the gallery. He shows his art at the Harold Golen Gallery in Miami and is busy creating new work for a one-man show he’s having in San Francisco at the end of 2008.
